3 steps to fix Washington

There seems to be this belief that running our government is so hard. That is what our politicians want you to think. That keeps them employed. Our Founding Fathers did not want life long politicians. They wanted smart and good people to give their time for the good of the country then move on for someone else to step in. We have politicians who have never had a real job and know nothing about the real world, just big government. Here are 3 ways to fix this situation and put control of our government back in the hands of the people and not self serving politicians.
1. vote out every member of the House & Senate. Lets start with a fresh batch of people who know nothing about big government but have common sense to see the waste and abuse in Washington. I bet 10 people with common sense could cut our federal spending budget in half in about 4 hours.
2. Term limits. 2 terms and you are out. That way our representatives do not forget who they work for.
3. Eliminate pensions for our representatives. Why should they get far better pensions then any normal hard working American gets. Wouldn't you like a job where you could decide how much money you make, how much your pension will be and no matter how poorly you performed you could not get fired? This will remind them that they are there to volunteer their services for a short time and move on.

Got your health

They say if you have your health you have everything. Well, now the government wants to take that from you. Do you know under the current plan, if you don't have health insurance the government will fine you? That is basically a tax for the uninsured. Do you know that if you do have health insurance, but it is too good compared to what the government whats you to have, you will have to pay a tax on your health insurance? Is this really what we want?

The U.S. deficit just passed $12 TRILLION. It hit $11 Trillion just 8months ago. Based on the latest census numbers, every man, women, and child in the US owes $39,500 for their share of the national debt. Each individual’s share has increase by $3300 in the last 8 months.

I heard this question posed and thought it was pretty interesting. If both Democrats & Republicans are against deficits and high taxes, why do we have deficits and high taxes? Our current problems are not caused by Democrats or Republicans, they are caused by politicians. It does not matter the party affiliation. Every Politian wants to increase government take more of your money.

The deficit is at a level that the probability of the country going bankrupt is greater then the probability of paying off the debt. It is sad to think that we have burdened many future generations with this debt.

If we want to fix this problem we need to replace every politician in Washington and start fresh with people who more closely resemble the average American. In the American population less then 1% of the population is composed of millionaires. In Washington 54% of congressmen are millionaires and 40% of senators are millionaires. Do you think they really represent you?

How much tax is enough to pay for health care

Do you know the Senate health care bill is proposing to raise your taxes? They want to increase the rate of medicare tax on your payroll. While cost estimates are not out on the Senate bill yet, you can bet it will be far more expensive then the costs to the American people today. The government just keeps spending money it does not have and can not possibly get. Estimates of the House bill are at about a TRILLION dollars. How in the world will the government get that money? Do you realize if the government took 100% of all the profits of the 100 largest companies from the Fortune 500, excluding those that lost money and took bailout funds, that would only cover half. The top 100 companies had $450 billion in profits last year. That means you the individual have to pay.

The new preamble of the Constitution

We the government of the United States, in order to form a more controlling government, establish mediocrity, insure domestic oppression, provide for the common defense of man made disasters, promote general health care, and remove the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ignore and reject the Constitution of the United States of America.

Wake up and read the Constitution!

wake up and read the Constitution! The government is a servant of the people - NOT the other way around.

Why does the US government have so much debt

The US is trillions of dollars in debt and getting worse. Do you think we have so much debt because we are not taxed enough? Or do you think there is too much spending?

Think about that. If you think we are taxed more then enough, then it is time to do something about spending.

Friday, October 23, 2009

What do you think of this?

“… the Constitution allows for many things, but what it does not allow is the most revealing. The so-called Founders did not allow for economic freedom. While political freedom is supposedly a cornerstone of the document, the distribution of wealth is not even mentioned. While many believed that the new Constitution gave them liberty, it instead fitted them with the shackles of hypocrisy.”

Who said that? Barack Obama a paper he wrote at Columia.

545 people

EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST
HAS SCRIPTED IN THIS MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE.

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years.

545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and
then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits? Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme
Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the
Domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason... They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.

Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red... If the Army &Marines is in IRAQ, it’s because they want them in IRAQ If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible. They and they alone, have the power. They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees. We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess! Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper.

This might be funny if it weren't so darned true.

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his work,

Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
Taxes drove me

Price of oil

What ever happened to drill here, drill now! Do you realize the price of oil has more then doubled this year. No one seems to be complaining about it. America is rich with oil and natural gas but our government continues to block the drilling. America is sending trillions of dollars to other nations when we could be putting that money to work right here in this country.

The President continues to talk about investment in future energy supplies. That is great if it works out and it probably will. So are going to let a valuable asset lose all its value when that happens instead of using it now while it is worth something. That is like stocking your house with food and letting it all go bad because some new food products will be out next year.

Continue to tell your representatives you want them to do something about it. Tell them to support drilling right here.

Wisdom at a young age

“Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech…”

“The administration of government is nothing else but the attendance of the trustees of the people upon the interest and affairs of the people; and as it is the part and business of the people, for whose sake alone all public matters are, or ought to be, transacted, to see weather they be well or ill transacted, so it is the interest and ought to be the ambition of all honest magistrates to have their deeds openly examined and publicly scanned. Only the wicked governors of men dread what is said of them.”

Ben Franklin age 16.

Is Health Care reform worth it

If the government wants to reform health care why is their plan going to make it so much more expensive? The governments plan for health care is going to cost you significantly more in your taxes then you pay now. Do you really want the government determining what treatments you should be allowed to receive?

Write your representatives and tell them what you think.

https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml

http://www.senate.gov/

It is very easy to email your representatives or to call them.

Do you really trust the politicians in Washington

Why do we continue to elect our political leaders. They are the ones who got us in this mess. We all seem to think our Representatives are not the problem, it is some other politician from some other state. Here are some good questions from Glenn Beck.

Do you trust those in power to always tell you the truth?
Do you think your public servants place your well being above their own?
Do you think they see your face when they make a decision or those who contributed to their campaign?
Did you know that every president since Jimmy Carter has promised to reduce our dependency on foreign oil, but we are now more dependent then ever?

Do you really trust the government to fix health care and pay for it? They government has completely bankrupted Social Security and Medicare. The current unfunded liabilities of both Social Security and Medicare are $99 TRILLION. Each individual American's share is $330,000. A family of 4 owes $1.3 million. How can our country possibly afford this? Bernie Madoff only stole $50 billion and he is going to jail for 150 years. Our politicians have perpetrated a fraud thousands of times bigger.

Your cost for energy is about to skyrocket

The House passed the climate bill known as Cap & Trade. This bill will add significant taxes to manufacturers who will pass those costs to consumers. The Heritage Foundation (AskHeritage.org) estimates that the average American family will see its average annual energy bill increase by $1500. That does not include the increase in the cost you will pay for everything you purchase as a result of the producers increased costs. This bill will cost millions of jobs in this country because manufacturers will relocate to less expense locations. This bill could result in the largest tax increase for Americans in history.

How will this bill help improve the climate when there will be no restrictions on the rest of the world that will begin to manufacture more as a result. America already has some of the strictest pollution requirements in the world, but many countries have virtually none.

I urge you to write your Senators and tell them you are against the Waxman-Markey bill known as Cap and Trade.

Write to your Senator

Write your congessman and tell them NO to HR45

Are you aware of HR 45 being discussed in Congress? If you value your right to bear arms, you need to write your representatives and tell them you are against HR45.

HR45 - The Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act would establish a nationwide system for prohibiting unlicensed gun-ownership. If approved, the law would require gun owners to apply for five-year licenses to own firearms, and would give the U.S. Attorney General broad authority over the program. There are no co-sponsors to the bill, and there is very little chance it will be adopted.

Can't program BMW Homelink - here is a solution

Having problems programming BMW Homelink? This may be a solution. I coult not program my BMW Homelink and I have tried for 3 years. I finally got a new garage door opener and thought that would be the solution, but I still could not get it to work. I did a lot of research a theme seemed to be the distance between the remote control and the homelink button in the car. Here is how I finally got it to work.

I followed all the normal steps of erasing the codes. When I tried to program to match the remote I never got the rapid blink. I finally held the remote so it was touching the button I was programing and it blinked rapidly in a few seconds. When I pushed the learning button on the door opener, I pushed the car Homelink button once for 2 seconds, then again for 2 seconds and a third time for 2 seconds and it work. One interesting note, I was not in my garage when I got the remote to synch up with the Homelink button. I had to run out in the middle of trying to program my remote and while I was away, I held the remote to the button and got the rapid blink.

Hope this helps you.

Some interesting facts on George Washington

“I was summoned by my country, whose voice I can never hear but with veneration and love.”
George Washington

Some interesting things about George Washington

George Washington was a remarkable person whose character existed in exactly the right time in history. His father died when George was just 11 years old. That probably cost him the traditional formal education in Europe that was common in those days for those who could afford it. George was raised by his mother and became very close with an older half brother, Lawrence. Lawrence later married a girl of an aristocratic family who were well respected in the British military. When George was 15 his half brother presented George with the opportunity to become a midshipman on a Royal Navy vessel. At the last minute George’s mother decided not to let him go. Imagine how different things might have turned out if George Washington had joined the British Royal Navy.

George Washington was remarkably tall for the times. He was over 6 feet tall and for the times he was almost a foot taller then most men. His height helped his commanding presence throughout his life.

George became a surveyor as his father had been. This decision worked out very well for his later endeavors in the military. His knowledge and understanding of the geography helped him a great deal during the wars in which he served. George saved and acquired land at every opportunity.

George Washington had a successful military career with the Virginia Militia while serving in the French and Indian War. He never hesitated to enter the battle with his men. During one fierce battle he had 2 horses shot out from under him and at the end of the battle had a bullet hole through his hat and 3 more through his coat. Years later in 1770 while examining some land an Indian chief heard the Colonel was nearby and set out to meet with him. The Chief visited the camp where Washington was and then spoke around a camp fire through an interpreter.

The Chief told of a story of a battle during the French and Indian War in which he had seen Washington on top of a horse. He instructed his warriors to aim for the “yon tall and daring warrior”. …”Quick let your aim be certain, and he dies…. Twas all in vain: a power mightier far than we shielded him from harm. He can not die in battle.”

The chief continued, “I am old, and soon shall be gathered to the great council fire of my fathers in the land of shades; but ere I go there is something bids me speak in the voice of prophecy. Listen! The Great Spirit protects that man, and guides his destinies – he will become the chief of nations, and a people yet unknown will hail him as the founder of a mighty empire!”

Well, was this old Indian Chief a profit or what? 5 years later while attending the Second Continental Congress George Washington was elected commander of the American army which was starting some of the beginning battles of the American Revolution. Washington accepted the commission but expressed his feelings of inadequacy but firmly pledged himself to the cause of liberty.

Most of Washington’s life was spend in the name of liberty. Most of the founding fathers writings were littered with the word liberty, but it is seldom heard from today’s politicians.

Washington spent 8 grueling years as commander of the American army during the revolutionary war and most of the time he had to deal with ill furnished troops; many of whom lacked shoes and proper clothing. In the winter they huddled together in only tents in bitter New England cold. For the 8 years, Washington refused to accept any pay for the position believing his duty to the cause of liberty should not warrant the receiving of any pay.

In the 8 years of war, 4400 American men were killed in battle, 6200 suffered nonfatal wounds and sent to hospitals. In those days, the hospital may have been worse then dyeing in battle. There were very few doctors with any formal training and most wounds ended up in amputation with no anesthetic. Even more remarkable to the casualties of battle was the fact that sixty thousand American soldiers died from disease, exposure, or malnutrition.

At the end of the war, much as before, Washington’s greatest desire was to retire to his farm and work the land. He found tranquility on Mt. Vernon and on many occasions expressed the desire to spend the rest of his days there.

Unfortunately, the continuing intertwining of fate and his life with that of the formation of America called for him again. In 1787 Congress approved a proposed convention to amend the Articles of Confederation. Early that year people began to summon Washington to attend the convention. He continued to turn down invitations and express his wishes to remain at Mt. Vernon. Over time the situation began to get the better of him and he saw the chance to cement freedom by creating a strong government.

As soon as the convention started, Washington was voted president of the convention. Some of the greatest political minds and most influential people of the times, were representatives of the Colonies at the convention. During the long summer of 1787 the convention hammered out the Constitution. It took until June 1788 for enough states to ratify the Constitution and finally the new government was born.

Washington then looked forward to spending his remaining days at Mt. Vernon, but many others had other thoughts for Washington’s future. Many people thought it was a foregone conclusion that Washington would be the 1st president. It took a convincing, and Washington again felt inadequate to the task, but eventually decided to accept the position. Again, Washington refused to accept pay for the office of President, but Congress declined his offer and voted him an annual salary of $25,000.

George Washington was a man who longed for a private life but ended up with one of the most important public lives in American history.

Will the US become a socialist country

Are we at risk of losing our freedom and becoming a socialist county. You decide if we have anything to worry about. This is a editorial from David J. Smith with News Watch magazine.

Barack Obama – Friend or Enemy of the U.S.A.?
By Editor: David J. Smith 5/16/09

Saul Alinsky was a Marxist, Socialist, and Communist. Before his death in 1972, he had established a foundation called Industrial Areas Foundation in Chicago. Hillary Clinton was one of his disciples (from 1969-1972) while he was alive. Later, Barack Obama trained at this school for radicals.
Alinsky wrote a book entitled: Rules for Radicals. He said the new radicals should dress appropriately and blend in with society, yet never lose sight of their radical intentions of overthrowing that society for Socialism. He created a system called Community Organizers. Barack Obama became a Community Organizer for several years and taught others Alinsky’s methods.
In the Alinsky model, “organizing” is a euphemism for “revolution.” He called for a wholesale revolution whose ultimate objective is the systematic acquisition of power by a purportedly OPPRESSED segment of the population, and the RADICAL transformation of America’s social and economic structure. Is this WHY Obama ran on a platform of CHANGE? The GOAL is to foment enough public discontent, moral confusion, and outright chaos to spark the social upheaval that Marx, Engels, and Lenin predicted. The result would be a revolution without the public even realizing they had been revolutionized!!! The collapse of the old system would be replaced with an entirely NEW SYSTEM.
What have we seen thus far? For all practical purposes, the banks have been nationalized, which is Socialism!!! The auto industry has also come under government authority, which is State Socialism!!! The stage was set for this TAKEOVER of business by the federal government in 1942. The Supreme Court ruled in the Wickard vs. Filburn case that the federal government had a right to regulate that which it subsidizes. That is why the federal government offers money to businesses, States, police departments, etc.!!! The feds can regulate EVERYTHING that one of their tax dollars touches.
Alinsky’s brand of revolution was not characterized by dramatic, sweeping, overnight transformation of social institutions. Richard Poe put it this way: “Alinsky viewed revolution as a slow, patient process. The trick was to penetrate (infiltrate) existing institutions such as churches, unions, and political parties.” Alinsky advised organizers and their disciples (Obama) to quietly, subtly gain influence within the decision-making ranks of these institutions, and to INTRODUCE CHANGES from the platform.
; For several years, Obama TAUGHT WORKSHOPS on the Alinsky method!!! Now he wants to implement these social CHANGES to bring about the New World Order!!!
Obama worked with ACORN, a now disgraced arm of Alinsky’s foundation, in getting people out to vote. ACORN is being sued in several States for voter registration fraud. Obama is an Alinskyite. Trained by Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation, Obama spent years teaching workshops on the Alinsky method. In 1985, he began a four-year stint as a community organizer in Chicago, working for an Alinskyite group called the Developing Communities Project. Later, he worked with ACORN and its offshoot, Project Vote, both creations of the Alinsky network.
Camouflage is KEY to Alinsky-style organizing. While trying to build coalitions of black churches in Chicago, Obama caught flak for NOT attending church. HE BECAME AN INSTANT CHURCHGOER, while20remaining a Muslim in secret. Obama said he had a 20-year church attendance. TRUE! This was ONLY out of necessity to the CAUSE OF INFILTRATING CHURCHES!!!
The FACT that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama share an Alinsky background tells us two things. First, they are leftists (Socialists), DEDICATED TO THE OVERTHROW OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL SYSTEM. Second, they will go to ANY LENGTH to conceal their radicalism from the public.
Obama’s friend, Bill Ayers and wife Bernardine Dohrn, were leaders of the 1960s terrorist group known as the Weatherman, a Communist-driven splinter faction of Students for a Democratic Society. Ayers characterized Weatherman as “an American Red Army.” A friend of Obama and his mother was Frank Marshall Davis, a writer for the Black Press and known Communist. Davis was a member of the Soviet-controlled Communist Party USA. He became young Obama’s mentor and advisor.
A key supp orter of Obama’s state senate campaign in 1996 was Carl Davidson, a Marxist who in the 1960s had been a national secretary of Students for a Democratic Society, and a national leader of the anti-Vietnam War movement. The list could go on.
The question becomes: Are the 50 independent Nation-States in trouble? The Constitution guarantees each State a Republican form of government!!! The United States is being led by an ILLEGITIMATE President, whose ultimate goal is Socialism!!! What can we do?

Thank you,The EditorDavid J. Smith

Health Care Reform

I am tired of the term "Health care Reform". What is that supposed to mean? What are we going to reform? We have the best health care system in the world. Is health care reform going to cost us less? The current plan for health care reform in the administration is going to cost taxpayers $1.5 trillion. How much does the current system cost taxpayers? How about nothing. It is paid for by you personally, not with by taxing you more.

In order to try to cover costs for the plan the administration is considering levying taxes on items the "government" has determined are unhealthy for you. Do you really want the government deciding what is good for you or not? Are you willing to pay extra taxes on alcohol, or soft drinks? How about when they decide fast food should have more tax because they think it is unhealthy? I bet if the media started telling America that the government is about to add significant taxes to alcohol there would be such an uprising against "health care reform"or public health care that it would have strong resistance.

It the government can decide what you should and should not eat, they will certainly decide what medical treatment you need.

Does the President need a cabinet or a publicist?

Does President Obama really need a cabinet or does he really need a publicist? Lets face it, a publicist might find a way to improve the image of cabinet picks and office appointees he has made. He seems to spend more time on TV and worrying about what people think of them then addressing the issues in the country. I am waiting for the commercial with President Obama saying “I am not a President, but I play one on TV”. He has not behaved very presidential. Why is he pressuring businesses and forcing loans and bankruptcies and still handing failing businesses your hard earned tax dollars. How about his plan (or lack of one) for releasing terrorists from Gitmo … Releasing them in AMERICA???? Why don’t we invite Osama Bin Laden over for dinner? Oh, and did you know he wanted $80 million to close Gitmo. A fried of mine had a great idea. Give him a plane ticket and $1000 of ammo and he could close it.

Are you ready for the FairTax?

If you’re not ready for the FairTax yet and are OK with the unmanageable tax system we are living with, maybe this will help convince you otherwise. A new study shows that millions of citizens and illegal aliens will apply for and receive tax credits they do not deserve. That’s right! Illegal aliens will be getting your hard earned tax dollars. People here illegally, taking American jobs, sending American dollars back to other countries are taking money out of your pockets. Is this a big problem? You decide; 6-7 million households will unjustly get $12-$14 Billion of your tax dollars.

Here are some FairTax basics:
Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
Allows American products to compete fairly
Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
Abolishes the IRS
Visitors and illegal aliens will contribute to the tax base

I must print a retraction

I must admit that the President finally did the right thing by ok'ing the Navy to rescue the American hostage from the pirates.

Good Job Mr. President!

Pirates still alive and negotiating? WHY?

There was a time when Americans could feel safe knowing that is some hostile group or nation kidnapped them or imprisoned them that the might of the United States of America would be there to help rescue them. Americans should be very concerned with the current stand off with pirates and the captain held hostage. President Obama is indicating to the world that Americans are fair game. The President is more concerned about gaining agreement from other countries on how to handle the situation. Americans lives will now have to be valued by the European community or the UN before we can expect the new US to respond.

I know how to handle. How about the way we would have handled before we became a wussified nation of political correctness. How about letting that Nave ship do its job? Send over a team of SEALs, rescue the Captain, blow up the boat they are in and let the pirates sink to the bottom with the debris.

"We're from the government, we're here to help!"

The government and the current administration are moving fast as they can in a very scary direction. Are our freedoms at risk?

The government has taken ownership in major banks. They will be able to decide how to lend money and who gets it. Now the government will likely have ownership in auto makers. That will allow them to push their desire for hybrid cars on Americans by dictating what cars should be manufactured. What if they decide to add penalty taxes to non hybrid cars or foreign cars? You will be forced to drive cars you would most likely never buy. GM will likely be very sorry they took government bailout funds. The last thing any business wants is someone showing up at their office saying “we’re from the government, we’re here to help”.

How about tax payers? They will now own a large part of GM. GM is now offering to make your car payments if you loose your job. So not only to you taxpayers get to pay for your neighbor’s house you also get to pay for his car. Oh yea, you get to cover the warranty also.

Left wing liberals are trying to set pay limits and not just for executives, they are now discussing other employee levels. I wonder what the left wing actors in Hollywood will say when the government decides they can only make $300k a year. Come on. You really don’t think they should make more then a CEO who has a government mandated salary of $500k a year, do you?

Proper view of government spending

"I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple, applying all the possible savings of the public revenue to the discharge of the national debt; and not for a multiplication of officers and salaries merely to make partisans, and for increasing by every device the public debt on the principle of its being a public blessing...."

Thomas Jefferson

Why are all these bailouts and stimulus bills confusing?

In 1792 Alexander Hamilton (Secretary of Treasury at the time) took actions that caused a major economic crisis. He formed a “national bank” that many thought was unconstitutional at the time (you know, the powers not specified in the constitution are reserved for the states..). The bank assumed debts of state governments and issued notes (borrowed money) at high interest rates to pay for it. Thomas Jefferson ( Secretary of State at the time) opposed Hamilton’s plan because it increased the national debt while the plan claimed to reduce it. Jefferson claimed it was designed to be so confusing ordinary people could not understand it. When the “bubble” burst the crisis brought the economy to a stand still. – Sound familiar? Too bad the current administration has decided to ignore history.

A letter from John J Wall, law student

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters,
We've stuck together since the late 1950s, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know that we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and just will not ever agree on what's right. So let's just end it right now while we can do it on friendly terms. We can smile, shake hands, chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and each go our own way.
So here's a model separation agreement.
Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by land mass, each taking a portion. That's going to be the difficult part, but I'm sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy. Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate taste. We don't like redistributive taxes so you can have those. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. And since you hate guns and you hate war, we'll take the firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. But you are going to be responsible for finding a biodiesel vehicle big enough to haul them around.
We'll keep the capitalism, the greedy corporations, the pharmaceutical companies; we will keep Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have the homeless, the homeboys, the hippies and illegal aliens. We will keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, the greedy CEOS and all of the rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and we'll let you have NBC and Hollywood.
You can be nice to Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer anybody that threatens us. You can have the peaceniks and the war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we will provide them with security. You won't have to worry about it. We will keep our Judeo-Christian values. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley Maclaine. You can also have the UN, but we will no longer pay the bill.
We will keep the SUVs, the pickup trucks and the oversize luxury cars. You can have the compacts, the subcompacts and every Subaru station wagon you can find. You can give everybody healthcare, if you can find any practicing doctors. We will continue to believe that healthcare is a privilege and not a right. We will keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and the national anthem, and I am sure you will be happy to substitute in their place "Imagine." I'd like to teach the world to sing "Kumbaya" or "We are the world." We will practice trickle-down economics and you can give trickle-up poverty your best shot. And since it so offends you, we will keep our history, our name and our flag.
Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots. And if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the friendly spirit of parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in about 15 years.
Sincerely,
John J Wall
Law student and an American
P.S. You can also have Barbara Streisand and Jane Fonda

Sick of government spending!

Our Government continues to spend us into oblivion. I hope everyone is as angered as I am over this. Too many Americans do not realize that every cent the government spends belongs to the people of this nation. If you think about that and look at where the money is going, would you spend money on the things our government is spending it on? GM has lost $67 million a DAY during its last quarter and is now looking for more money from the government (from YOU). Why not just set your money on fire. Are you looking forward to government healthcare, form the fine folks who brought you the drivers license office and public housing? I hope, like me, you are writing your representative and expressing your outrage. If you need the link to write your representatives let me know.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident….. That, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That, whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government…”

Pot legal in California?

California is considering legalizing pot to raise tax revenues to help with the states financial crisis. I can tell you, I would rather see the whole state turn into pot heads then have the Federal government seize even $1 from me and redistribute to the state of California.

Suprised to see this on CNBC.

Rick Santilli recently went crazy over the stimulus plan on CNBC. It is very surprising to see this on that network, but I am glad they showed it. This is a refreshing point of view to see expressed on the liberal media.

Who should our Government encourage?

What if the Government encouraged the members of our economic sector that contribute the most to our society instead of the sector that contributes the least and only consumes Government handouts? For years our Government has had tax policies that punish over-achievers, but reward under-achievers. If wealth redistribution worked, we would have eliminated poverty many years ago. Don’t be fooled by the tax breaks in the stimulus plan; refunds for people who do not pay taxes - that’s called welfare. Rich people keep getting richer and poor people keep getting poorer because they each keep doing that made them the way they are. I have a cure for poverty, its called hard work. How about a 2nd job? What will our Government do when it has taxed the last dollar out of the top 5% in this Country?

"Give me Liberty or give me death"

Our Founding Fathers desired and worked to create a balance of government where control was in between no control, or Anarchy, and too much control, or Tyranny. They believed that too much in any direction and Liberty would suffer. In an anarchy situation no one could be assured protection of their rights or their property. In a tyrannical situation the government interferes with ones liberty by oppressing their rights. When Patrick Henry said “Give me Liberty or give me death”, he was not only referring to the British government ruling at the time. He was referring to any form of government that would infringe upon his rights or Liberty. He could have never envisioned the amount of power our government has amassed and would surely consider it tyranny.

Do you realize the Government is spending your money?

Do you realize the government does not own us, but we own the government. The government has no money to spend unless we give it money. Every dollar the government spends belongs to the people of this country. Many of us sit back and think or say, "I can't believe the government spend money on that". Would you be more upset thinking "I can't believe the government spent MY money on that"? Do you realize that for years the government has been spending far more money then it collects from us? That means it is borrowing tons of money. The latest stimulus package just means the government is going to borrow $800 billion from some one to spend on the ridiculous plan. The government keeps borrowing money and we have to sign the papers. Our government has signed Americans up for a $10 Trillion loan over time. Get your check books out. I hope this makes you mad enough to contact your representatives.

The debt of our Country

The founding fathers believed that natinoal debt should be avoided at all costs. The recognized that it may become necessary in time of war or other national crisis, but should immediately repaid. Thomas Jefferson said about debt, "I, however, place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greates of the dangers to be feared." (Berg, Writings of Thomas Jefferson, 15:47.) Here are some staggering figures from a chart in the 5000 Year leap, p299. Debt Update: New all time high records have been set for deficit spending during the spring of 2006. Congress has increased the debt ceiling to NINE Trillion dollars. All things considered, the burden of debt for every man, woman, and child in the country has risen to over $100,000 each. Our nation is overspending at a rate of abut $2 billion per day. During the first half of 2005, Americans got poorer at the rate of $80 million per HOUR. Headlines of 2005 offered the remarkable information that China – a Third World nation – lends the United States $300 billion per year. Pres. Obama vs. Abraham Lincoln

Today on Abraham Lincoln's birthday, President Obama made a speech about Mr. Lincoln and how he helped make the Obama presidency possible. Here is a quote from Abraham Lincoln. Do you think President Obama feels the same way?

“Property is the fruit of labor. Property is desirable, is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently to build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence…. I take it that it is best for all to leave each man free to acquire property as fast as he can. Some will get wealthy. I don’t believe in a law to prevent a man from getting rich; it would do more harm then good.” (Quoted in The Freeman: Ideas on Liberty, May 1955 p. 7.)

George Washington knew the importance of national security

Geoge Washington knew the importance of national security and the need to be prepared to defend our Country. He said "There is a rank due to the United States among nations, which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be know that we are at all time ready for war." (The 5000 year leap, p264) He also said, "To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means to preserving peace." (Fitzpatrick, Writings of George Washington 30:491)

Stimulating the economy - how about the FairTax

The stimulus package is intended to stimulate the economy but there does not seem to be much in it to help businesses put people to work. The fast way to stimulate the economy and put people to work would be to pass the FairTax act. Our economy would take off.

The bigger our feder government gets, the less rights we have

The founding fathers felt it was very important to only allow the Federal Government powers to deal with issues not appropriate for states. They thought it was very important to have strong local and state governments.

Thomas Jefferson said, "What has destroyed liberty and the rights of man in every government which has ever existed under the sun? The generalizing and concentrating of all cares and powers into one body,...." (Bergh, Writing of Thomas Jefferson, 14:421)

America is envied and hated

"During the past two hundred years the United States has out distanced the world in extending the benefits of inventions and discoveries to the vast majority of its people in such fields as medicine, housing, education, power-energy, transportation, space, aircraft, and agriculture. Furthermore, Americans have been responsible for more discoveries and inventions in science and elsewhere then any nation on earth. It’s young men and women have fought in wars throughout the world in defense of freedom, asking nothing for their efforts and sacrificing their lives in return. The United States is always the first nation to provide relief and aid to other nations that have had natural calamities, sometimes even providing aid to our enemies. We have given more dollars in aid and relief them most of the world nations combined. In spite of our largess we are the target of the hate and envy of the rest of the world. " (The 5000 Year Leap, Forward quote from Ronald M. Mann, Deputy Director, Commission on the Bicentennial of the United States Consititution)

Our Government has gone off the deep end!

Last week Nancy Pelosi said in an interview that each month that we do not pass the stimulus 500 million Americans lose their jobs. The problem with that there are only 300 million Americans. You would think the Speaker of the House would have a reasonable idea how many people are in this Country. This is an example of how people have been completely desensitized to the size of large numbers. All of our Representatives are trying to push through the stimulus package and just keep making it bigger. The American people should be outraged by this package and writing and calling their representatives to tell them to through it out. Even the above average person can not grasp how big a Trillion dollars is. That is a 1 with 12 zeros after it; a 13 figure number! If you could spend $1 million every day, it would take almost 3000 years to go through a $1 trillion. If you spend $1 million every hour, it would take 114 years to spend $1 trillion.

The President keeps trying to scare people into believing that if we don’t pass this package we will never recover. Is he really that much of a pessimist? Does he, our President, not have more faith in America, the Greatest Country on the earth? He is supposed to be our leader.

Stimulus? For who

The current stimulus package will not provide any jobs for the public sector, only more government jobs. Do you really want your government that much bigger? Do you think the government can spend money more efficiently then you? It will cost the governmen billions to spend a trillion dollars.

The role of the government is to protect equal rights, not provide equal things.

The Founders distinguished between equal rights and other areas where equality is impossible. They recognized that society should seek to provide equal opportunity but not expect equal results; provide equal freedom but not expect equal capacity; provide equal rights but not equal possessions; provide equal protection but not equal status; provide equal educational opportunities but not equal grades. (The 5000 Year Leap, p112)
