Our Government continues to spend us into oblivion. I hope everyone is as angered as I am over this. Too many Americans do not realize that every cent the government spends belongs to the people of this nation. If you think about that and look at where the money is going, would you spend money on the things our government is spending it on? GM has lost $67 million a DAY during its last quarter and is now looking for more money from the government (from YOU). Why not just set your money on fire. Are you looking forward to government healthcare, form the fine folks who brought you the drivers license office and public housing? I hope, like me, you are writing your representative and expressing your outrage. If you need the link to write your representatives let me know.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident….. That, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That, whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government…”

Pot legal in California?
California is considering legalizing pot to raise tax revenues to help with the states financial crisis. I can tell you, I would rather see the whole state turn into pot heads then have the Federal government seize even $1 from me and redistribute to the state of California.

Suprised to see this on CNBC.
Rick Santilli recently went crazy over the stimulus plan on CNBC. It is very surprising to see this on that network, but I am glad they showed it. This is a refreshing point of view to see expressed on the liberal media.

Who should our Government encourage?
What if the Government encouraged the members of our economic sector that contribute the most to our society instead of the sector that contributes the least and only consumes Government handouts? For years our Government has had tax policies that punish over-achievers, but reward under-achievers. If wealth redistribution worked, we would have eliminated poverty many years ago. Don’t be fooled by the tax breaks in the stimulus plan; refunds for people who do not pay taxes - that’s called welfare. Rich people keep getting richer and poor people keep getting poorer because they each keep doing that made them the way they are. I have a cure for poverty, its called hard work. How about a 2nd job? What will our Government do when it has taxed the last dollar out of the top 5% in this Country?

"Give me Liberty or give me death"
Our Founding Fathers desired and worked to create a balance of government where control was in between no control, or Anarchy, and too much control, or Tyranny. They believed that too much in any direction and Liberty would suffer. In an anarchy situation no one could be assured protection of their rights or their property. In a tyrannical situation the government interferes with ones liberty by oppressing their rights. When Patrick Henry said “Give me Liberty or give me death”, he was not only referring to the British government ruling at the time. He was referring to any form of government that would infringe upon his rights or Liberty. He could have never envisioned the amount of power our government has amassed and would surely consider it tyranny.
Do you realize the Government is spending your money?
Do you realize the government does not own us, but we own the government. The government has no money to spend unless we give it money. Every dollar the government spends belongs to the people of this country. Many of us sit back and think or say, "I can't believe the government spend money on that". Would you be more upset thinking "I can't believe the government spent MY money on that"? Do you realize that for years the government has been spending far more money then it collects from us? That means it is borrowing tons of money. The latest stimulus package just means the government is going to borrow $800 billion from some one to spend on the ridiculous plan. The government keeps borrowing money and we have to sign the papers. Our government has signed Americans up for a $10 Trillion loan over time. Get your check books out. I hope this makes you mad enough to contact your representatives.

The debt of our Country
The founding fathers believed that natinoal debt should be avoided at all costs. The recognized that it may become necessary in time of war or other national crisis, but should immediately repaid. Thomas Jefferson said about debt, "I, however, place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greates of the dangers to be feared." (Berg, Writings of Thomas Jefferson, 15:47.) Here are some staggering figures from a chart in the 5000 Year leap, p299. Debt Update: New all time high records have been set for deficit spending during the spring of 2006. Congress has increased the debt ceiling to NINE Trillion dollars. All things considered, the burden of debt for every man, woman, and child in the country has risen to over $100,000 each. Our nation is overspending at a rate of abut $2 billion per day. During the first half of 2005, Americans got poorer at the rate of $80 million per HOUR. Headlines of 2005 offered the remarkable information that China – a Third World nation – lends the United States $300 billion per year. Pres. Obama vs. Abraham Lincoln
Today on Abraham Lincoln's birthday, President Obama made a speech about Mr. Lincoln and how he helped make the Obama presidency possible. Here is a quote from Abraham Lincoln. Do you think President Obama feels the same way?
“Property is the fruit of labor. Property is desirable, is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently to build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence…. I take it that it is best for all to leave each man free to acquire property as fast as he can. Some will get wealthy. I don’t believe in a law to prevent a man from getting rich; it would do more harm then good.” (Quoted in The Freeman: Ideas on Liberty, May 1955 p. 7.)

George Washington knew the importance of national security
Geoge Washington knew the importance of national security and the need to be prepared to defend our Country. He said "There is a rank due to the United States among nations, which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be know that we are at all time ready for war." (The 5000 year leap, p264) He also said, "To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means to preserving peace." (Fitzpatrick, Writings of George Washington 30:491)

Stimulating the economy - how about the FairTax
The stimulus package is intended to stimulate the economy but there does not seem to be much in it to help businesses put people to work. The fast way to stimulate the economy and put people to work would be to pass the FairTax act. Our economy would take off.

The bigger our feder government gets, the less rights we have
The founding fathers felt it was very important to only allow the Federal Government powers to deal with issues not appropriate for states. They thought it was very important to have strong local and state governments.
Thomas Jefferson said, "What has destroyed liberty and the rights of man in every government which has ever existed under the sun? The generalizing and concentrating of all cares and powers into one body,...." (Bergh, Writing of Thomas Jefferson, 14:421)

America is envied and hated
"During the past two hundred years the United States has out distanced the world in extending the benefits of inventions and discoveries to the vast majority of its people in such fields as medicine, housing, education, power-energy, transportation, space, aircraft, and agriculture. Furthermore, Americans have been responsible for more discoveries and inventions in science and elsewhere then any nation on earth. It’s young men and women have fought in wars throughout the world in defense of freedom, asking nothing for their efforts and sacrificing their lives in return. The United States is always the first nation to provide relief and aid to other nations that have had natural calamities, sometimes even providing aid to our enemies. We have given more dollars in aid and relief them most of the world nations combined. In spite of our largess we are the target of the hate and envy of the rest of the world. " (The 5000 Year Leap, Forward quote from Ronald M. Mann, Deputy Director, Commission on the Bicentennial of the United States Consititution)

Our Government has gone off the deep end!
Last week Nancy Pelosi said in an interview that each month that we do not pass the stimulus 500 million Americans lose their jobs. The problem with that there are only 300 million Americans. You would think the Speaker of the House would have a reasonable idea how many people are in this Country. This is an example of how people have been completely desensitized to the size of large numbers. All of our Representatives are trying to push through the stimulus package and just keep making it bigger. The American people should be outraged by this package and writing and calling their representatives to tell them to through it out. Even the above average person can not grasp how big a Trillion dollars is. That is a 1 with 12 zeros after it; a 13 figure number! If you could spend $1 million every day, it would take almost 3000 years to go through a $1 trillion. If you spend $1 million every hour, it would take 114 years to spend $1 trillion.
The President keeps trying to scare people into believing that if we don’t pass this package we will never recover. Is he really that much of a pessimist? Does he, our President, not have more faith in America, the Greatest Country on the earth? He is supposed to be our leader.

Stimulus? For who
The current stimulus package will not provide any jobs for the public sector, only more government jobs. Do you really want your government that much bigger? Do you think the government can spend money more efficiently then you? It will cost the governmen billions to spend a trillion dollars.
