This is amazing. The new Debt Commission is underway trying to figure out how to reduce the debt. Here is their starting point. “The commission's charge is to produce a deficit no bigger than $550 billion by 2015, an amount equal to about 3 percent of the total U.S. economy. That would require deficit savings in the range of $250 billion or more.” 18 people on this commission and they best we can “hope” for is our deficit is only $550 billion in 5 years. You give me 18 average workig Americans and 2 hours and I bet I can find a way to cut federal spending $550 Billion in the 1st year.
The 2011 Federal Budget is $3.8 TRILLION Dollars. $1.4 TRILLION of that is discrectionary spending. How about we reduce the money we dont actually have to spend by 1/3?
The revenue from the top 29 Fortune 500 companies is $3.8 Trillion dollars. The revenue from the top 100 Fortune 500 companies is $6.5 Trillion dollars. In 2 years the government spends more then the combined revenue of the top 100 Fortune 500 companies.

Explanation of budget reductions
I have posted this before but it is a great way to explain how the budget has been reduced. Washington should be able to fix all our problems in no time.
